Dash Release Notes - April 2025

An all-new Dash search box: It’s leveled up from helping you find your work to helping you get it done—ask questions, discover insights, chat to draft content, and organize your work, all from one place. Learn more here.

When a user clicks into Dash search box, they’ll see four actions:

Find – Search across a user’s connected apps and tools
Ask – Get answers and insights
Write – Start a new doc or draft
Organize – Sort and group content

Note: As we continue to expand functionality across platforms, some features may currently be limited on mobile and desktop apps.

  • Verified results: Allows admins and knowledge managers to to mark content as a trusted source to help others quickly find the most accurate and up-to-date information and content. Learn more here.

    Details include:
    • Admins and knowledge managers can mark documents as verified with a check mark icon (<img style="height: 1.125rem; margin-bottom: 0.125rem;" src="https://cdn.prod.website-files.com/65dcd70b48edc3a7b446950e/680858e878f46f49ce676d35_89c2a2aa69791446b48d1f364c4694fe_verified.png" />)
    • Verified results appear with a badge in search results.
    • Users can see who verified the content and when it was verified.
    • Admins can manually add verified content from search or provide URLs directly.
  • Summarize and answers in stacks: You can now ask questions and get summaries for more types of documents in stacks. This expands AI support beyond standard cloud files to include: Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Dropbox Paper, Confluence pages, and SharePoint pages. Learn more here.
  • Comments in stacks: Users will now see more context around items in a stack—including who added the item, why it’s included, and optional comments from collaborators. This update helps make stacks more understandable and actionable, especially if the user wasn’t the one who created them. Learn more here.
  • Search across multiple file types: Users can now search, find, and filter multimedia files, like images and video. Users can also filter results by file type, dimensions, and other fields. Learn more here. Search results for supported files include:
    • Thumbnails for quick preview.
    • Metadata like title, file type, owner, and timestamps.
    • Clickable thumbnails for an enlarged view with more details.
  • Create and share templates: Users can now create, save, and share structured prompt formats and company tones.
    • Templates: When users select Write in Dash search box, they will now have the option to begin with a template. This includes the ability to select from starter templates, company templates, or a user’s own previously created template. Users can also create their own templates, edit company templates, and choose to share them broadly with their organization.
    • Custom tones: Dash tones transform responses into personalized content that reflect a specific writing style. The user can select from a variety of pre-defined tones or create custom tones using their own emails and other content. Custom tones can stay privatec or they can be shared with coworkers to keep communication consistent across their team. Learn more here.
  • Local file upload in Chat : Users can now upload files directly in Chat, enhancing the ability to ask or write without requiring the source document to be already stored in Dash. Learn more here.
  • Slack connector: Users can now connect their Slack account to Dash to search for messages attachments shared in public channels, including: sender, time of message, thumbnail, and channel in which the file was sent. Learn more here.
  • Microsoft Teams connector: Users can now connect their Microsoft Teams account to Dash to search across key content, including: messages, channels, teams, and tags. Learn more here.
  • Gong connector: Users can now connect their Gong account to Dash to search across key content, including: calls, transcripts, and users. Learn more here.
  • Zoom connector: Users can now connect their Zoom account to Dash to search across key content, including: team chats, calendar events, meeting transcripts (admins only), and contacts. Learn more here.

  • Data exclusion at time of ingestion: Allows admins to set exclusion rules for specific content within Google Drive and Microsoft 365 connectors. This includes exclusion of OneDrive User Drives, SharePoint sites, Google Shared Drives, and My Drives from being ingested into Dash. Learn more for Microsoft 365 here, and for Google Drive here.
    • Initial setup: During the connector setup, admins can specify which drives or sites to exclude from ingestion.
    • Modifying exclusions:  After the initial setup, admins can modify exclusion rules. If ingested content is marked for exclusion, it will be removed within 6-24 hours.

Dash Release Notes - March 2025

  • Stack drag and drop: Easily arrange and reorder items in a stack, and add them into the sections area, with drag and drop functionality. Learn more here.
  • Reorder pinned stacks: Users can now click and drag to reorder items in their pinned stacks, providing enhanced customization and organization. Learn more here.
  • Directly add to section in stack: When searching for an item to add to a stack, users now have the option to add that item directly to a section with an easy to use dropdown. This eliminates the two-step action of adding an item to a stack and then adding it to the desired section. Learn more here.
  • Directly add to section in extension: When searching for an item to add to a stack within the Dash extension, users now have the option to add an item directly to a section of a stack. Learn more here.
  • Spell correction in searches: User typos in the search bar will now be automatically corrected, and the correction will be displayed along with the results (similar to a Google search). Learn more here.
  • Updates to Dash Answers: Responses for answers, summarize, and ask will now use large language models (LLM) hosted on Groq. Users will experience a much faster response rate. Learn more here.
  • Column sorting for admins: Admins can now sort selected columns in the protect and control section of the admin panel.
  • Updated actions across all connectors: Admins can now conduct basic actions across all connectors in the protect and control section of the admin panel. This includes:
    • Remove/add collaborator
    • Remove/add link
    • Delete

  • Connector sync status: We’ve introduced enhancements to the connector sync status, improving visibility into the ingestion progress and providing more status updates on the Apps page in Dash. This makes it easy for admins to understand connector progress, diagnose potential issues, and be notified when an a connector has been successfully synced. Learn more here.
  • Stack updates: We’ve made updates to stacks to make them more user friendly and intuitive. Learn more here.
    • Users will be notified if attempting to add a duplicate item to a stack. This helps keep stacks neat, helpful, and uncluttered.
    • Users can now paste in a list of emails when sharing stacks. This makes it quick and easy to share a stack to a large number of colleagues simultaneously.
  • Typeahead filtering: Makes it easier and faster for users to find the information they need in Dash, including filters like from:, type:, time;, and more. Learn more here.
  • Microsoft OneNote connector: OneNote is now available as a Dash connector. This makes it easy for users to quickly gain access to key information that’s in notebooks, sections, and pages with in Microsoft OneNote. Learn more here.
  • Airtable connector: Airtable is now available as a Dash connector, enabling users to easily gain access to and search for information that lives in Airtable. Users can search any information in bases, tables, and even comments. Learn more here.

  • Deeplinking in Dash: Users can now open files directly in desktop applications like Microsoft Word, Zoom, and Dropbox, bypassing the browser for a faster, more seamless experience. Learn more here.
  • Access Dash search directly from your browser: With the Dash browser extension installed, users can easily conduct searches in Dash directly from the search bar in Chrome or Edge. Just type ds followed by your query to access recent docs without breaking your work flow. Learn more here.
  • Email domain allowlist for connected apps: Admins can now control which email domains users can use for connected apps, ensuring only company-approved accounts are linked to Dash while restricting personal accounts like Gmail for added security and data control. Learn more here.
  • Meaningful stack updates: Previously, any operation performed by the user would trigger a “last updated” refresh to a stack. Now, only meaningful operations, listed below, will register an update to a stack. Learn more here.

    • Creating or deleting a stack item
    • Changing the color or emoji of a stack
    • Archiving or unarchiving a stack
    • For stack items, the timestamp updates when the underlying document changes.
